Penny Rug Feather Tree Skirt or Candle Mat E PATTERN Designed by me for your sewing pleasure! This is a NEW pattern design! Try your hand at making your own PENNY RUG treasures! Penny Rugs are such FUN to make! They require basic sewing skills allowing the beginners to try their hand at this time honored craft. Basic materials are required and available at your local Jo Ann Fabrics store. I also find lots of wool in the form of old coats from my local Goodwill store! This tree skirt or candle mat measures about 12" round and is EASY to complete!! If you want to use it as a candle mat eliminate the slit and hole in the center or simply place a candle over the hole after you take your tree down to keep it out all winter. You will receive the pattern - color photo - complete instructions as well as The Basics, my guide to making other penny rug goodies. The design features six smiling in the night time sky against a background of black wool. Gold stars twinkle in the sky and tiny cream snowflakes are falling. Moss holly and red berries trim their necks. The backing is a red wool that frames the design background. I used black, rust and cream embroidery floss with easy blanket, cross and running stitches throughout. Stop back often as I am stitching and designing daily!
