Welcome to Primitive Pattern Emporium

At Prairie Harvest Arts, we started getting to the point where our pattern numbers were growing and it was time to create a new place for them, to which we are adding craft supplies. 

Also, it seemed a great place to share our wool from the llamas and sheep here at the farm, so you will see more of that near shearing season.  But it takes a while to skirt and wash the wool, so as it gets done, it will be available.

At the Primitive Pattern Emporium, as well as Prairie Harvest Arts, we concentrate on the arts on crafts that were a part of America's history or are representative of our past.  My family homesteaded in the 1800s.  We even had a couple of uncles who took part in the gold rush in Alaska--a rather industrious couple of uncles- but they returned to the midwest.

I was fortunate enough to spend part of my younger years growing up in Montana where we spent a good amount of time exploring ghost towns, of which there were many.  At one I found part of a broken porcelin doll which I have valued to this day.  I still often wonder abount the little girl who owned it.  Did she throw it away or was it left when and if she had to leave in a hurry?

I value the principle of hard work that so families have and think that groiwng up on a farm has been good for my children. They really know how to work hard.  Just ask them about baling hay, fencing ( a job that is never done) and working hard to show their livestock at the county fair.  Yes, cattle can smell like apples if you use apple scented shampoo on them.
