Finished it measures 5" wide and 9" high and is super EASY to complete. I use lots of re-claimed wool from clothing I find at local thrift shops. Very basic supplies are needed and can be found at JoAnn Fabrics.

Penny rugs are so much fun to make. Prepare a bunch and stitch them easily while watching your favorite TV shows at night. A very relaxing craft. These make great gifts!

The design features a primitive old world Belsnickle Santa that wearing an antiqued cream suit that is trimmed with a darker tan wool edge to represent fur. He has needle sculpted arms and face with black French knot eyes. His beard is a cream wool that was hand stitched. Moss green holly with red wool berries decorate his outfit. Add a moustache of real sheep wool or wool fabric. His is tea stained for an old time appearance. I stitched the sides closed on my sewing machine then stuffed him with fiberfill and hand stitched the bottom closed. You may chose to hand stitch the sides closed as well if a sewing machine is not available to you. I added a hang cord so you may place him on your tree or a peg hook.
